Lightning Hang On For Win Over Islanders

The Tampa Bay Lightning (31-23-5) defeated the New York Islanders (23-20-14) 4-2 on Saturday afternoon in Elmont, New York. The win snaps Tampa Bay's losing skid at three games.

Nikita Kucherov had a goal and two assists to lead the way for the Lightning, who also got goals from Nick Paul, Brayden Point and Luke Glendening. Victor Hedman added three assists.

The Lightning took a 3-0 lead into the third period before the Islanders scored two goals under four minutes apart to pull within 3-2. Andrei Vasilevskiy made the key saves he needed down the stretch, finishing 32-of-34 to secure the win.

The Lightning are back in action on Sunday in the second game of a back-to-back when they head to New Jersey to play the Devils. Puck drop on Sunday is scheduled for 1:00 PM from the Prudential Center.
