The Tampa Bay Lightning (46-26-8) defeated the Buffalo Sabres (35-38-7) 7-4 on Sunday night at Amalie Arena. With the win, the Lightning are now two games ahead of the Florida Panthers with two games remaining.
Nikita Kucherov had two goals and an assist and now has 119 points on the season, three ahead of Nathan MacKinnon for the NHL lead. The Lightning also had two goals from Jake Guentzel, and single goals from Ryan McDonagh, Conor Geekie and Emil Lilleberg.
The Lightning are next in action when they host the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night - puck drop from Amalie Arena is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
