The San Francisco 49ers and quarterback Brock Purdy have agreed to a five-year, $265 million contract extension, his agent, Kyle Strongin of Range Sports confirmed to NFL Network's The Insiders.
"The #49ers and QB Brock Purdy agreed to terms on a five-year, $265 million contract extension, his agent Kyle Strongin of @RangeSports tells The Insiders. Purdy gets $181M in total guarantees, including $165.05M in the first three new years of a deal that runs through 2030," NFL Network's Tom Pelissero wrote on his X account. "Strong cash flow for Brock Purdy, who had been due $5.346 million in the last year of rookie. He’ll now make over $55M a year over the first three new years, and $215M over the first four."
Purdy, 25, who enters his fourth season since being selected at No. 262 overall, the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, was first eligible for a contract extension after the conclusion of the 2024 season in adherence with league rules. The former Iowa State standout was the cheapest full-time starting quarterback in the NFL with only $1.004 million counting against the 49ers' salary cap last season.
Purdy made an $985,000 salary during his third season. The third-year quarterback took over as San Francisco's starter amid multiple injuries late in his rookie season.
Purdy, who led the Niners to back-to-back NFC Championship Games during his first two seasons, as well as a Super Bowl berth in his second season, threw for 3,864 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions on 300 of 455 passing, while leading the Niners to a 6-9 record in 2024.
