A Florida store owner was captured on camera fighting back against a criminal who tried to rob his liquor store.
WSVN obtained footage of the Christmas Eve crook attempting to steal two bottles of Don Julio Añejo from Gulf Liquors on Miami Beach and stuffing it in his backpack.
The thief also tried stealing bottles of Avorza and vodka before being confronted by the store's owner, Jorge Zubigaray.
The owner’s son, Jorge Zubigaray Jr., says his father spotted the attempted theft on live security cameras, grabbed his weapon and confronted the man.
Zubigaray Sr. confronted the crook and gave him a strong strike to the arm with a long electrical cable that resembles a stick.
Zubigaray Jr. told WSVN “my dad freaked out, came over here, told the guy, ‘Let me get the bottles.' The suspect pretended like he didn’t have the bottles in his backpack. Then my dad was like, ‘let me see,’ and tried to grab the bag, got a little, you know, violent with him.”
After the confrontation, the suspect ran out of the store.
According to WSVN, police were called and eventually caught up with the suspect.
The stolen liquor bottles were returned to the owners, however Miami Beach Police say there's no record of an arrest.
