Tampa mayor Jane Castor launched her re-election campaign last night--with a fund-raiser at an Ybor City hotel--saying she was born a cabinet-maker's daughter, served as a police officer for three decades, and wants another term in office.
This comes just a couple of days after the resignation of police chief Mary O' Connor, but the mayor has said she doesn't expect that will impact her campaign.
Castor was elected with nearly 80% of the vote in 2019.
