New Legislation Looks To Keep Children From Live Adult Performances

Establishments in Florida that admit children to adult live performances could see their licenses revoked under new legislation.

HB 1423 creates fines or suspensions and conditions for the violation of a license when an establishment is found allowing children into adult live performances.

State Rep. Anna Eskamani says the bill targets drag shows and the LGBTQ+ community.

Bill sponsor state Rep. Randy Fine says the legislation doesn't prohibit live performances which are exclusively for adults, it just looks to keep them free of children.

The House Commerce Committee voting favorably on the bill.

Similar legislation is being heard in the state Senate.
