Ultra Spring Break Weekend In Miami-Dade

Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to descend on Miami and Miami Beach this weekend for the 23rd Ultra Music Festival and spring break celebrations.

Temperatures will be in the mid-80s, with 55,000 people packing into Bayfront Park each day from today through Sunday for Ultra.

"We've seen injuries as a result of excessive dancing and, you know, running around as well as just heat related, so we're prepared for all of that," says Miami Fire Rescue Captain Ignatius Carroll.

He adds, "There are first aid stations throughout the venue. We have Fire Rescue out there on scooters, on bike, on foot, in our rescue units that are out there enough to be able to provide services and get it there as quickly as possible."

The vast majority of the Miami Police force working the downtown Miami beat through Sunday as well.

In an effort to cap dangerous activity on South Beach, the City of Miami Beach is stopping area liquor store sales at 6:00 p.m. nightly with parking garages not letting anyone in after 9:00 p.m.
