19-Year-Old Driver Arrested for Crash During High-Speed Race

Bonita Springs, FL - A 19-year-old has been arrested for participating in a race on a Florida highway that allegedly reached speeds of 120 mph and caused a crash involving two other vehicles.

The incident occurred around 4:50 p.m. when Alan Daniel Bustillo-Nunez was allegedly racing a 2019 BMW at speeds exceeding 120 mph on I-75, located north of Bonita Beach Road.

During the incident, Bustillo-Nunez crashed his vehicle, causing damage to two other cars involved.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries resulting from the collision.

Following the crash, law enforcement officials apprehended the driver and transported him to the Lee County Jail.

Bustillo-Nunez's BMW was impounded as part of the investigation.

Bustillo-Nunez faces three counts of reckless driving and racing on the highway.

He remains in custody at the Lee County Jail as the case progresses.

The Florida Highway Patrol has stated that an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
