Man Arrested for Threatening South Florida Home Depot Employee with Gun

Homestead, FL - A 20-year-old Homestead man was arrested last week after allegedly threatening the life of a Home Depot employee with a gun while attempting to steal a power tool.

According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. on November 13th at the Home Depot located at 33001 S. Dixie Highway in Florida City.

Loss prevention officers arrested the suspect, identified as Angel Manuel Roldan, as he attempted to exit the store with an unpaid DeWalt grinder.

Upon being confronted by the loss prevention workers, Roldan pulled out a handgun from his jacket and pointed it at the head of one of the employees, threatening to shoot him.

Following his threat, Roldan fled the scene in a Toyota Camry.

Police located Roldan on Monday at a Texas Roadhouse near the hardware store and placed him under arrest.

Roldan is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on three counts of aggravated assault with a weapon and one misdemeanor petit theft charge.

At the time of his arrest, he was out on probation on two grand theft charges.
