Miami, FL - A 43-year-old South Florida woman was arrested on Sunday following allegations that she set a chair on fire at the House of Food Porn restaurant in Miami.
The incident occurred on Saturday in the rear of the establishment located at 197 NW 62nd Street in Miami.
Officers were summoned to the restaurant in response to a burning tent.
City of Miami firefighters quickly arrived and successfully extinguished the flames.
According to investigators, a vigilant neighbor who noticed the fire alerted the restaurant owner.
The owner reviewed surveillance footage, revealing a "black, heavy-set female wearing a blue polka dot dress walk to the tent and intentionally set a chair on fire."
The woman was later identified as Velan Verdier, who is homeless.
The fire resulted in damage to several tables, chairs, and a tent.
After initiating the blaze, Verdier fled the restaurant but was located on Sunday in the area of Northwest Second Avenue and 64th Street.
Verdier was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, facing a second-degree arson charge.
As of Monday afternoon, she remains in custody with a bond set at $7,500.
