Woman Caught Using Counterfeit Money Arrested After Trying to Eat Evidence

North Miami Beach, FL - A woman was arrested on Sunday after police discovered her attempting to use counterfeit money at a Walmart Supercenter and then trying to eat the evidence when confronted.

According to police, 38-year-old Zipporah Abraham entered the Walmart located at 1425 NE 163rd Street around 10:20 a.m. and attempted to pass off fake bills to customer service staff.

The staff alerted store loss prevention officers, who recognized Abraham from previous theft arrests.

Loss prevention officers observed Abraham concealing items in a storage bin and then pacing back and forth in the store until she found an opportunity to flee with the merchandise.

They stopped her and detained her in the loss prevention office before involving the police.

Upon being asked to remove her jewelry before being taken into custody, Abraham stuffed approximately $200 worth of counterfeit bills into her mouth and attempted to swallow them.

Police were able to prevent Abraham from swallowing the money and arrested her on felony charges of grand theft and uttering forged bills.

Abraham is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $10,000 bond
