Florida Students Aboard United Flight That Lost a Wheel on Takeoff

A trip to Japan is off to an unsettling start for some Osceola County students.

A United flight heading from San Francisco to Japan yesterday had to turn around after losing a wheel.

The school district says 15 students from Gateway High School and three chaperones were on board.

The United Airlines jet landed safely in Los Angeles, and no one was hurt.

The wheel reportedly bounced into an airport employee car parking lot.

A district official tells News 6 the school's principal was in close communication with the group throughout the ordeal.
