Judge Sets Frank Artiles Sentencing Date in Election Law Violation Case

(Miami, FL) - A Miami-Dade judge has set a sentencing date for ex-Florida Senator Frank Artiles in his ghost candidate scheme case.

Judge Miguel de la O says he will hear a motion for a new trial before handing down Artiles sentence November 18th.

Artiles' attorney Frank Quintero says the judge could decide to send his client to jail before an appeal plays out.

Artiles was convicted by a jury last month of excessive campaign contributions to a ghost candidate and procuring the falsification of a candidate oath form.
