Miami-Dade, FL - Miami-Dade County is once again offering residents a chance to resolve unpaid court costs and reinstate suspended driver licenses without added financial penalties.
Operation Green Light, an annual initiative led by Clerk of the Court and Comptroller Juan Fernandez-Barquin, will run from April 21st through May 4th, 2025.
During this limited-time event, collection fees typically added to outstanding traffic fines, criminal court costs, and other legal obligations will be completely waived.
The initiative aims to make it easier for residents to settle their debts and regain driving privileges.
“This is our fourth time hosting Operation Green Light, and it continues to be a huge success for the community,” said Fernandez-Barquin.
“We’ve already helped more than 17,000 people resolve their cases and saved residents over $1 million in fees.”
Driver licenses are commonly suspended due to unpaid tickets, failure to appear in court, or unresolved financial penalties.
Operation Green Light helps eliminate some of those barriers by offering a more affordable path to compliance.
Payments can be made in person, online, or by phone. However, mailed payments do not qualify for waived fees.
Accepted methods include cash, checks, money orders, and major credit cards.
Services will be available at several court locations across the county, including in Coral Gables, Hialeah, South Dade, and North Dade.
Select sites will offer extended hours on Thursdays and Saturdays to accommodate more residents.
For more information, residents can contact the Clerk’s office by phone or email.
