Daytona Beach, FL - A beachfront icon in Daytona Beach has just earned top national recognition, beating out coastal favorites across the country.
Ocean Deck Restaurant and Beach Club in Daytona Beach has officially been crowned the number one beach bar in America by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for 2025.
The popular seaside spot sits directly on the Atlantic Ocean, offering an open-door, flip-flop-friendly experience that blends lively entertainment with local charm.
The venue originally opened in 1957 as a humble hot dog stand before evolving into a full-service beach bar and restaurant.
It was purchased in 2012 by Connie and Matt Fuerst, who have continued its legacy as Daytona’s only beachfront bar built on the sand rather than a seawall.
“We’re grandfathered in,” Fuerst noted that new structures are now required to stay off the beach.
Locals and tourists alike flock to Ocean Deck for its relaxed dress code, late-night kitchen, open until 1 a.m., and signature menu item: the Ocean Decker burger, a towering creation stacked with bacon, ham, cheese, and onion rings.
The beach bar also features weekend karaoke, live beach concerts, and views of the Atlantic steps from your table.
Florida had a strong showing overall, with Pensacola’s Flora-Bama Lounge placing second and Sloppy Joe’s in Treasure Island ranking seventh.
Hawaii landed the most bars in the top ten, all located on resort properties.
The 2025 list also included standout spots from California and South Carolina, highlighting America’s love for beachside cocktails, burgers, and sun-soaked vibes.
