Miami Hurricanes Take on Texas A&M in College Football Playoffs

Well, Notre Dame is out, and the U is in. Miami slid into the College Football Playoff Sunday.

The #10 Hurricanes battle seventh-ranked Texas A-and-M in the first round a week from Saturday.

Miami is 10-and-2 while the Aggies are 11-and-1.

U-M Head Coach Mario Cristobal on his players getting a chance to play in another meaningful game. "I mean, it's always the goal, right? I mean, when we first arrived here, that was always placed as priority. So guys like that, like you mentioned, that have been here with us from the beginning. Guys have joined us as of late, too. So really, for everybody, for our entire program, every coach, every administrator, anybody involved in the University of Miami, it's awesome. It's why you do it, to give yourselves a chance, an opportunity to play for national championship. And then for us, is making sure we focus on 1-0. But yeah, to those guys, yeah, it means everything to them. They're they got to jump on film nice and early, within minutes of the announcement, so as you would expect, so just an awesome moment for them."

This will be Miami's first CFP appearance, having leapt over Notre Dame in the rankings.

The selection committee announced the number one seed as the Indiana Hoosiers, followed by Ohio State, Georgia and Texas Tech.

All four teams will get first round byes.

The first round will see number eight seed Oklahoma host #9 seed Alabama, and #6 seed Ole Miss take on #11 seed Tulane.

Number five seed Oregon will also matchup against #12 seed James Madison.
