With the NBA Play-in Tournament starting today, Doug Gottlieb talks about how the tournament simply does not work. He thinks it feels forced, like the NBA is trying to copy other sports instead of leaning into their own identity.
Doug Gottlieb: "I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze for this one...it kind of feels like a push. Have there been some benefits? Yeah. There's some drawbacks? Yeah. Do I think the benefits slightly outweigh the drawbacks? It does, but it also feels sort of forced. It feels like, hey, we're trying to be baseball, trying to kind of copy both baseball and college basketball"
